ADAM VAN'T HOF COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP

The family of Adam Van’t Hof, through the Tonka United Soccer Association Board of Directors, has authorized one to two $1,000 college scholarships to be used toward education expenses. This award has been established as a memorial to Adam Van’t Hof, a former Tonka United player and referee. This scholarship is to be given in recognition of graduating high school players or referees who demonstrate commitment, excellence and leadership in the Tonka United soccer program. Candidates may be nominated by a player, coach, referee, other adult or self-nominated.


Deadline for receipt of nominations is May 31, 2024.

The award decision will be announced by June 10, 2024. 

GUIDELINES & CRITERIA

  1. One to two annual $1,000.00 college scholarships funded by the Adam Van’t Hof Memorial Fund and Tonka United Soccer Association.
  2. The scholarships will be awarded to players, referees, and/or student coaches who are completing their senior year of high school.
  3. Candidates may be self nominated, nominated a by player, coach, or other adult.
  4. Nominations must be received by May 31, 2024 and award determination will be completed by June 10, 2024.
  5. A committee comprised of no less than three will evaluate nominations and make scholarship selections. Committee will be comprised of a member of the Van’t Hof family and two representatives of Tonka United Soccer Association.
  6. Criteria for award:
  7. Hardworking and diligent. High attendance at practices and games.
  8. Excels off the field in academics, community service, etc.
  9. Accepts direction and advice. Appreciate coaches, teammates and officials.
  10. Unselfish attitude. Recognized as a team player.
  11. Achieves in their role beyond expectations.
  12. ‘Gives back’ to the game of soccer.
  13. Financial need..

7. The scholarship check will be directed in joint to the recipient and college of choice.
