Summer Recreational Game Rules
The rules for the game of recreational soccer are modified from those used for the "real" game. To make sure all players have fun, the fields are smaller than regular-sized fields and there are fewer players on the field. Depending on the age group, there are differences for example, in how to place the ball back into play after it goes out of bounds or how to handle off-sides.

2nd-9th Grade Field Changes (posted 4/28/08)
There will be small changes to the goal and penalty areas for the 2nd - 9th grade fields to make our fields compatible with state requirements for 6v6 travel fields. Instead of a penalty area line all the way across the field 10 yards from the goal line, the line will only extend 24 yards across the field. Players will now be able to kick the ball to the side of the field on goal kicks. Also, the goal area is 6 yards out from the goal line and extends 16 yards across the field. For goal kicks players may place the ball anywhere on or inside the goal area. The penalty mark remains 10 yards out from the goal line.
